How do I create my own company event types?
First you need to be logged in as an administrator user. Then please follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the correct page by following the ‘Administration’ link from the left sidebar as shown in the screenshot below.
2. You will then be taken to the Administration Setup screen and you should see a similar view to the one below. Please follow the ‘Customise Event Types’ link as shown in the screenshot.
3. Here you will be able to view the list of event types already recorded. If you have just opened your account then you will see the global event types, similar to the image below. Let’s now add a new type.
4. Click ‘New Company Event Type’. You should now be able to see the Event Type Details form which lets you create your customised event type. See screenshot below.
5. As you can see on the screenshot you will need to specify name, choose type*, enter payment percent (which will be 100% except for leave types where employees are paid a percentage of their wage, such as maternity leave) and default allowance (which allows you to specify how many days of this company event type each employee should receive per year). You will also need to choose a colour that will be used when displaying events of this type on leave charts or reports. When you’re ready click ‘Submit’ and this will save the changes and will take you back to the list of company event types.
*As detailed at the beginning of this section, each company event type that you set up will also need to be allocated to one of the LeaveWizard global ‘types’. This allows the system to record whether the new company event type you are creating will be paid time off, whether it will remain bookable time for employees or is public holiday and so on. You may find the table at the start of this section helpful in deciding which global type to assign to your new company event type.
